About Travel Notes
A China guide written for travelers — landscapes, cities, food and culture explained clearly and credibly, so every trip starts on solid ground.
What We Do
Travel Notes is a pure content site: no tours, no middlemen. We do three things —
Explain destinations
500+ original articles across 84 cities, from the eaves of the Forbidden City to a bowl of noodles at a lane-corner shop — every piece bilingual with practical tips and tag indexes.
Browse articles → 🛂Demystify entry rules
Visa-free entry, visa-free transit, documents and fees — organized into a readable guide based on current policy as of September 2026, updated as rules change.
Visa guide → 🧰Pack useful tools
Live currency conversion, transit-eligibility check, packing list, plug types and the best season to go — everything handy before departure, on one page.

Travel Notes started from a simple observation: for many international friends, the idea of China is still stuck in a few old photographs. The real China has noodle shops glowing before dawn, greetings echoing down old lanes, and festivals and crafts still alive after five thousand years.
So we began to write — explaining the places worth visiting and the culture worth understanding in a way that is trustworthy and easy to read. Every article is bilingual in Chinese and English, with localized titles and excerpts for Japanese and Russian readers. Everything is free to read, with no ads and nothing being sold.
What We Stand For
Trustworthy
We verify and cite; policy pages show when they were last reviewed. No exaggeration, no stale advice.
Local Insight
Written for people who will actually walk the streets — not just checklists, but timing, nuance and context.
Accessible
Four UI languages, bilingual articles, one-click switching — language should never be a barrier to China.
Free Forever
No paywall, no ads. Content is free to read, always.
